It was all hands on deck, on Saturday 24th June at the Thames Centre, when GACAP supported their partners Harvest Church who were holding a Tombola and Table Top Sale to raise much needed funds for Kidz Zone in house church for young people. Harvest Church meets every Sunday at the Bethany Centre, Woodham Village. Chairman of GACAP Ron Mitchie and Secretary Joan Mitchie delivered all the items for the session and were met by a flurry of helpers, Peter Driver, Geoff Walvin, Kath Pinner, Alison Ferby and Geoff Batchelor to set everything up for the 11am start. Ron thanks the Thames Centre for the use of the space and to Ronnie the caretaker for being so helpful. Peter took charge of inviting people to support the event by taking a chance on the tombola.

There were over 150 prizes that could be won if the lucky numbers were drawn out. A total of £140 was raised and this was added to a Cake Sale after Harvest Church Services which increased the total raised over the two days to just under £300. Many thanks to all who helped in the event and Sonia Scott for her donation.  During the day partners’ were able to share about the partnership and have organisations interested in coming along to GACAP net meeting at 4pm on 3rd July at Disc Offices, near the blue bridge. GACAP partners displaying helpful information were, Aycliffe Alcohol Recovery Mutual Support AARMS, Buddies Befriending Service PCP, Great Aycliffe Cancer Support, Place of Welcome and County Durham Food Bank from St Clare’s and LCA Baby Basics who will be holding an event at the Thames Centre on 22nd July  advising shoppers more about themselves.
