On Tuesday 22 February, staff and members of Lifestyle Fitness Newton Aycliffe took part in a fundraising event for Willow Burn Hospice by taking on a series of fitness based challenges throughout the day.
We aimed to run, cycle and walk ‘back to the 80s’ by working together to clock up 80 minutes on the treadmill, bike and cross trainer which will be a total of 4 hours of cardio exercise! We also ran an 80s themed spinning class in 80s fancy dress, thank you to Kimberly Tarn and Lewis Wood for running the class.
In total we raised £100 for Willow Burn.
Rebecca Smith, from Lifestyle Fitness, said “We first heard about the work that Willow Burn Hospice does when the Durham County Council Chairman chose the hospice as his official charity. When we looked into the hospice and learned about the amazing support that Willow Burn provided, we knew that this was the charity we wanted to fundraise for.”
Rachel, from Willow Burn Hospice, said “On behalf of the team at the hospice, I just want to say a huge thank you to the staff and members of Lifestyle Fitness for their fundraising.”
