Durham County Council is one of 75 authorities that can apply for funding from the Family Hubs and Start for Life programme, which aims to improve outcomes for babies, children, young people, parents and carers.
The £300 million national funding will be allocated to councils over the next three years to deliver a package of family support and Start for Life services.
These include mental health support, parenting programmes and help with breastfeeding, as well as the creation of family hubs which will offer families with children of all ages improved access to support services.
