Jill Williamson, former Executive Director of Sedgefield Racecourse has handed in the reins after 11 years in her role to lead the way into a new and exciting pet care business. Having dealt with animal care within the role as Executive Director the decision to create a new concept of pet sitting and pet care within the Town of Sedgefield was an opportunity too much to resist.

When a rental property became available with purpose built buildings and acres of land Jill and husband Jeff applied for the tenancy and were delighted to be offered the contract by John Wade, John Wade Group and allowed the opportunity to create a Countryside Retreat for Dogs and Cats.

There is current demand for local play parks specifically for dogs, where they can exercise, socialise and enjoy one-to-one care in an environment without other distractions. The play, cuddle and chill sessions we are offering will hopefully ensure more dogs can enjoy their time away from home.

As more and more pet owners become under pressure to work longer in months especially leading up to Christmas it can be distressing to both pet and owner, hopefully with our numerous unrestrictive services we can relieve some of this pressure by caring for the pet in need.

Doggy Day Care sessions home and away for an hour or a day are now fully available. The company is also working closely with Animal Welfare Licensing to adhere to all conditions to enable the refurbishment to comply and surpass current licensing standards.

Jill Williamson commented ‘I am delighted to be able to become a full time pet carer which has been my dream since owning my first pet at the age of 1! I am really looking forward to getting to know their individual characteristics and their needs to enable them to enjoy quality time away from their family’.

‘I would also like to thank Jeff Williamson, Director of WPS Ltd for sponsoring the facility and working every evening refurbishing the facility’.
