On Thursday 14th February, Mrs Kengyelics, our school Parent Support Advisor and Chair of the Friends of the School, handed over a cheque to Rachel and Trevor Taylor, who lost their daughter, Seonaid, in January 2018 as a result of an unknown heart condition.
The family have set up a campaign and have already completed lots of fundraising events to raise money to install a defibrillator in St. Mary’s Church, which is next to the school.
The family have also organised other fundraisers, such as breakfasts after Sunday morning Mass on 24th February and 10th March.
They have their own community charity group called ‘Kick it 4 Seonaid.’ The family have organised a St. Patrick’s three course dinner in the parish meeting room on Saturday 15th March, with tickets costing £10 each.
All of the money raised will go towards installing the debrillator which is expected to cost around £2300.
