A local author bids to stimulate more enthusiasm for reading, in the wider Aycliffe community, by offering FREE Ebook versions of his paperbacks. Steven Corner, 45, a senior electronics engineering lecturer, at Darlington College, has written five titles which include adult and children fiction, in addition to a true story.
His paperback stories include
‘A Dream from the Somme’ an intriguing love story that spans a lifetime from the Great War to the present day, with a ‘twist and turn’ that leaves the reader wanting more.
‘The Whispering Pegasus’ is a fictional horse racing story that captures the pride, joy, disappointment and sadness of owning great steeplechasing racehorses. Will Whispering Pegasus rank alongside the greats like Arkle, Red Rum and Desert Orchid?
‘The Child Who Saved Christmas’ tells the story of evil Yggdrassil, the Nordic Tree God, who desires the magical powers of Santa. Can Santa’s loyal elves stop Yggdrasill’s evil plan? . . . Or will children awake with no presents on Christmas morning?
‘Cinq Heures’ is a true story about a mountaineering accident in 2011. Imagine hanging for over five hours from a climbing rope following a fall on the le Dent du Geant (Giant’s Tooth) in the Swiss Alps. Most climbers die within sixty minutes of Suspension Trauma . . . Did Dan McClean survive??
‘Twelve Ghouls of Halloween’ is a children’s tale of Mia, the little girl witch and Jaelyn Dracule, the little vampire, and their quest to outwit the Twelve Ghouls of Halloween and save Halloween from oblivion . . . for Mia and Jaelyn did it turn out to be best Halloween party ever?
