Homes and communities organisation livin is holding free employability courses to help people get job-ready for the careers available with Hitachi Rail Europe at the manufacturing plant in Newton Aycliffe.

livin has been working with the train builder in support of recruitment activity for the factory, which will bring around 730 jobs to the area.

The courses, running in conjunction with Hitachi, are available at a range of local venues providing free bespoke employability advice. Help will be given to assist people to access Hitachi’s online job portal and practice the application process, as well as providing guidance to improve CVs.

Places for the training are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The full day sessions are between 9.30am and 3.00pm at the following locations:

“Working closely with Hitachi, we will be helping to match the right people to the right jobs and support people to gain the skills they need to improve their chances of securing employment. We will be offering a variety of courses over the coming months helping people from those starting out in their careers, to the long term unemployed and those already in work but hoping to move positions.”
