A well-known local teacher has been back to school to exhibit his unique paintings for an art exhibition is his name. Tony Middleton, who headed the Art and Design department at Woodham Academy until his retirement in 2009, returned to school to display a variety of paintings focussing on landscapes.
The exhibition was open to all with a keen interest from former colleagues and past students. Tony said; ‘”I was thrilled to host an exhibition at Woodham Academy, it was great to be back after spending 33 years there and lovely to see so many faces.”
Many of the paintings were inspired by local scenery including views of Darlington and Heighington, where Tony particularly enjoyed capturing his observations using pastels, oils and acrylics.
There are still a number of paintings in the art gallery at Woodham Academy, please contact info@woodham.org.uk if you would like to visit.
