Newton Aycliffe Junior Football Club held their 16th Annual Presentation on Saturday 15th June 2013 at Sunnydale Leisure Centre and what a fantastic event it was.

The stage included a state of the art PA system with two electronic screens so all could view the team DVD’s which was provided by the council events team.

Massive thanks to all the committee members, managers and parent helpers who came on Friday night to help set up and those who throughout the Saturday helped in various ways to ensure the smooth running of the event.

Over 160 children took to the stage to collect their individual trophies before the awards were handed out. The morning session started at 11.30am and the afternoon session at 3.45pm and I would like to thank all the parents who supported their children and brought them to the event.  The children with an age range between 4 years old and 18 years old were all dressed smartly in club attire and behaved impeccably and were a credit to their parents/carers and the club. Stuart Dunn, Operations Manager for the Leisure Centre commented on how well organised the day was and how well the children behaved.

Summer Raffle tickets were sold and will be drawn on Monday 8th July 2013.  The prizes kindly arranged by the teams and donated include an Acer Aspire Laptop (Tesco), Signed Liverpool Shirt (Liverpool FC), Flymo Hedge Trimmer (Flymo), Nokia Lumia Mobile Phone (Tesco), Blackberry Curve mobile Phone (Tesco), Mark Schwarzer Goalkeeper gloves (AC Aluminium Ltd ), 4 Ball round of Golf (Woodham Golf Club), Free MOT test (Shafto Way Service Centre), Kindle Fire Cover (Tesco) plus many more.  If anybody wishes to purchase any raffle tickets before they are drawn please email najfc@outlook.com.

NAJFC is a completely voluntary organisation and all committee members, managers, coaches and parent helpers dedicate hours of their free time to ensure the smooth running of the club.  They provide a safe and happy environment that promotes confidence, team building, self-esteem through sport. The club is dependent on the generosity of businesses in sponsoring the team kit which for the 2012/2013 season were; Beanies The flavour Co (u7); AC Door Systems (u8); Livin (u9); Livin (u10); AC Aluminium Ltd (u11); Livin (u13); Bengal Lounge (u14); Livin (u15); Honest John (u16); Plasmor (u18).  Thanks also to the Mortgage Advice Centre for sponsoring the balls (u18) and our tournament sponsors Woodspray; JR Butterfield and Revolution Power also to Newton News for their continued support in providing press coverage.

Club Chairman Stuart Howe and Treasurer Mick Burnham are stepping down this season after dedicating over 14 years to the club. The club wish them both well and welcome their replacements Nige Slatcher as Chairman and Carley O Neil as Treasurer.

A huge thank you to Woodham Academy who for four seasons have allowed us to use their indoor training and pitches for home matches. In particular, thanks to Assistant Headteacher Danny Morgans and Community Development Coordinator Marie Oswald for their invaluable support throughout this period.

As previously reported NAJFC will be moving to Sunnydale Leisure Centre having signed a Service Level Agreement which allows indoor training; outdoor training and small sided matches on the new 4G pitch and the use of a number of pitches including the magnificent stadium pitch. Not many junior football clubs can boast of such fantastic facilities all under one roof.

During the consultation process the operations manager Stuart Dunn has been extremely supportive and we look forward in anticipation of a thriving and beneficial relationship to both parties and the local community.  If you wish to be part of the club as a player and are aged between 4 years and 21 years then please email najfc@outlook.com or alternatively log onto www.najuniorfc.co.uk for manager and coach contact telephone numbers.
