Every Wednesday, 12.30 – 3.30, St Clare’s Unity Hall is a Place of Welcome, offering hospitality, friendship and a listening ear. Lunch is available from 12.30 – 1.30pm, free of charge, and light refreshments throughout the afternoon. You can be sure of a warm welcome and conversations each week at this time.

We are open to everyone, regardless of their circumstances or situation and our volunteers are waiting to greet you. Our aim is to provide a place in the community where all people feel safe to belong and to connect with others. Places of Welcome is a growing network of hospitality run by local community groups who want to make sure that everyone in their area has a place to go for friendship. So if you are looking for a friendly face, a cuppa and conversation, come and find us at any time between 1.30 and 3.30, at St Clare’s Church, St Cuthbert’s Way, Newton Aycliffe .

Kath Pinner, Dorothy Lovegreen and the rest of the team at St Clare’s on Wednesdays are waiting to greet people at the “Place of Welcome”.
