A resident driving up Central Avenue could not believe her eyes when she saw two people taking plants from flower beds kept so well by the County Council and putting them in their wheelbarrow!
So incensed by the nerve of these people she turned her car round and followed the couple who went into Welbury Grove and then into Ross Walk. This was witnessed on Thursday 21st May at around 12 noon and photos were taken of them leaving the scene.
These thieves left an untidy mess in the flower bed where they had taken out the plants of their choice, presumably to beautify their own garden.
We contacted the County Council and the number to ring if anyone sees this type of theft is: Customer Services on 03000 260000 – give them the details which will be passed to the police. Alternatively ring the police direct on 101.
