David Pickering a serving soldier from Newton Aycliffe based at Catterick has set up a Facebook page to get people to join him on Saturday 1st June at 12:30 to lay flowers outside St Clares Church to show support and respect for Drummer Rigby who died in Woolwich.
He has received a good response with 90 people promising to attend on the day. His Facebook page is called Drummer Rigby’s Flower Protest.
“It’s happening all over the UK, and I just think it will bring people together in Newton Aycliffe and make people think what our soldiers do for our country.” said David.
