Our local NHSTrust Charity has been fundraising towards state of the art MRI scanners for Darlington Memorial and Bishop Auckland Hospitals. The appeal has benefited from tremendous support and generosity from organisations and individuals across County Durham and Darlington ranging from donations of a few pounds to several thousands.

The November charity ball at Hardwick Hall, in support of the appeal, was attended by 200 guests and raised over £20K. Fundraising for the appeal continues into 2018 and we would welcome your support – in any way you can, ring: 01325 743781 or email: pat.chambers1@nhs.net.

We’re hosting a traditional Burns Night celebration, including a live Ceilidh band, on Thursday 25 January 2018, at Headlam Hall Hotel and Spa near Darlington. The evening will include pre-dinner drinks and canapes, a four course meal with the time-honoured tradition of ‘the piping in of the haggis’ followed with the customary address to the haggis. To find out more about the evening, to purchase tickets, which are £37, see contact details above.

Bishop Auckland Hospital’s new scanner has arrived and we’re grateful to suppliers Philips for allowing our patients to benefit from the advanced technology whilst we continue fundraising during 2018. The first appointments will be early in the New Year.
