Left to right: Dan Wootton, Rob Cherrie, Phil Innis and chief fire officer Stuart Errington who ran the length of County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service area (48 miles) on Sunday 13th March.
The team of officers took on the run as a charity challenge from Rowlands Gill in the north to the village of Croft in North Yorkshire setting off on at 7am.
Stuart Errington said: “We ran to raise money for the Fire Fighter’s Charity, which supports serving and former firefighters and staff across the country. We’re very grateful for all of the help that we’ve received from our support team who will literally keep us running with drinks and food along the way. I’d also like to thank all of those people who have sponsored us as well as the Croft Hotel, which kindly offered to welcome us and our families at the end of the challenge.
Friends and colleagues joined the team at various stages of the challenge to run sections of the route and boost morale. To make a donation, visit the team’s Just Giving page at: www.justgiving.com/CDDFRS-Ultra
