Aycliffe Radio, in conjunction with Aycliffe Town Centre, are planning a series of Family Fun Days in Aycliffe Town Centre over the next three weekends. The events are free to attend and, hopefully, informative and entertaining with good weather!

All events will take place in the central mall of Aycliffe Town Centre between 11.00am and 2.00pm with Aycliffe Radio in attendance to play music while you shop and talk to the stall holders.

Saturday 17th July – Local Help Organisations

On Saturday 17th July, Residents Associations will be setting up stalls to talk to residents about the service that they offer in their area. Also in attendance will be local help organisations with information and advice to help you. To make this day special there will be a Bouncy Castle, face painting, glitter tattoos, mascots, characters, tombola, dog agility displays and a Mr Whippy ice cream van.

Saturday 24th July – Emergency Services Day

To celebrate our local ‘Blue Light’ services, come along between 11am and 2pm, talk to the local Police Beat team, the town Fire Brigade, North East Ambulance Service and St John’s Ambulance.

To brighten up the day are Kiddies Fairground Rides, Vintage Fire Engine, Glitter Bar and Mr Whippy ice cream van.

(The emergency services could be on call during this event, so may have to leave early, arrive late or not turn up depending on the situations they are called on to attend).

Saturday 31st July – Sports Day

Do you want to learn a new sport or join a local sports organisation? Why not come along to the ‘Sports Day’ to be held between 11.00am and 2.00pm?

Over 20 local sport organisations will be in attendance such as Football, Rugby, Cricket, Archery, Axe Throwing, Water Polo, Karate, Crossfit Kids, Scouts, Swimming and more.

Providing energetic displays during the three hour session will be local dance troupes, cheer leaders and gymnasts.
