County Durham housebuilder Homes by Carlton has started work on developing a luxury 14-home site at Chilton, eight miles from Durham City

The award-winning Newton Aycliffe based developer is starting to roll-out its multi-million-pound plans to start work on at least three housing developments in Durham and Tees Valley during 2019, bringing around 300 new homes on stream.

Homes by Carlton, through an innovative funding package, recently started its latest housing development – Cathedral Gates, at Chilton. This comprises 14 spacious plots with a mix of 3 and 4-bed detached and semi-detached homes.

All the properties are built to the highest standards and combine hand-built craftsmanship, character and a high attention to detail.

Craig Peterson, co-founder of GCV and Homes by Carlton, said: “We’re delighted to be bringing the Carlton brand back to the North East. The region and the country are crying out for good quality homes in sought after areas.”

The standard specifications of the three house types is unusually high, featuring bespoke designer kitchens, stylish bathroom and full wet room, cottage-style oak internal doors, oak-finished handrails and posts on staircases, along with cedar wood garage doors.

A partnership with Nixons Kitchens allows homebuyers to choose from a range of designed kitchens in a variety of finishes.

Jordan Dargue, operations director at Homes by Carlton, said: “These are exceptional homes, designed to the highest finishes and beat anything in similar price ranges on the market.

“These affordable, stunning new homes are ideally situated near local amenities and main transport links between Durham and Darlington and other major towns and cities. We’re confident they will prove popular with families who are seeking an excellent quality of life.”
