A North East-headquartered flooring specialist has invested £250,000 in its infrastructure to support its expansion and increase its offering to customers. Flooring Superstore, which is based in Shildon, County Durham, has purchased 10 new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans to support its UK-wide delivery service and cope with increased demand. With the addition of the vehicles, this has taken the firm’s total investment to nearly £1m this year, following the opening of a £650,000, 10,000 sq.ft transport depot in Daventry, which created a further eight jobs. Dan Foskett, Managing Director of Flooring Superstore, said: “We are continuing with our longterm expansion plans and this latest phase of investment will allow us to offer an even greater service to our customer base. Our Daventry launch has helped establish our presence throughout the country and enhanced our connectivity links, and with the latest vehicle additions, this will help support our growth.” Flooring Superstore is an online retailer of flooring, which includes carpets, wood flooring, vinyl flooring, laminate, as well as artificial grass. Mr Foskett added: “Operating from our base in the North East, combined with our extended presence in the West Midlands, allows us to maintain our efficient service. It has been another positive year for the firm as we are experiencing continued growth and demand for our products, which has resulted in the decision to expand our fleet.”
