Wellbeing Walk for All!
Join us for a 4mile marshalled FREE walk around Newton Aycliffe on 26th January. This activity kicks off PCP’s ‘Dive In’ Fundraising campaign which will enable us to redevelopment of the Hydrotherapy Pool, here at the Pioneering Care Centre. The walk is mainly off road and wheelchair and pushchair accessible, dogs are welcome too! The walk starts at 10.00, however please arrive at the centre by 9.30 to register. The walk is free to enter, however donations for the Hydrotherapy Pool will be gratefully accepted and can be made on the day.
Let’s All Boogie!
Does your toddler enjoy dancing and singing? Let’s All Boogie is a fun informal class starting 15th January for 8 weeks, 11.00am – 12.30pm. Suitable for 18 months to 4 years old this course is FREE! For more details contact Dolly or Clare or call 0191 5657270.
Yoga Children
Bring your little ones along to a new Children’s Yoga class starting on Saturday 12th January 10:00am to 11:00am for 6 weeks. This class is aimed at children from the ages 4-7 years old and is a fun way to build strength in bodies and minds. Through games, songs, rhymes and giggles, stretch your body and learn key skills such as good sitting, cooperating with others, patience and perseverance. Sessions cost £5.00 each.
Developing Emotional Resilience
Gain confidence and discover a positive mindset by attending weekly social groups and join our developing emotional resilience course. Meet new people and better your personal mental and physical health. Become a more confident version of yourself and learn to control emotions. Starting Tuesday 15th January for 4 weeks from 10:00am – 1:15pm. This course is FREE!
Hula Exercise
Hula Hoop your way into fitness after the festive season with our new exercise class! Hula Exercise is a hula hoop class with a disco theme including dance music and disco lights! Carry on the festivities and become fitter this new year! This fun activity start Monday 14th January for 7 weeks from 5:00pm – 5:45pm. Sessions cost £4.00.
Batik Art
Join a friendly and experienced arts tutor to learn the basics behind creating your very own beautiful batik art work. Learn how to use fabrics, hot wax, inks and dyes to create your own inspired designs using this ancient Indonesian art form. Starting Wednesday 16th January for 6 weeks 10:00am – 1:00pm, each session costs £3.00.
You must be aged 19 or above and live in the County Durham area (paying council tax to Durham) in order to attend this course. You will need to bring your NI number and a form of ID with you to the first session.
Cookery
Our popular cookery course is returning on Friday 18th January 2019 for 8 weeks, from 10:00am to 12:00noon. Learn to cook a range of tasty, delicious, nutritious meals and take them home for lunch. This course is FREE to those on income related benefits otherwise it will cost £48.00. Proof that you are in receipt of benefits will be required at the first session.
Knitting for Beginners
Come and join our knitting for beginners course starting Friday 18th January 2019 for 8 weeks, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Learn to read patterns, knitting & crocheting techniques and create garments & toys. This course is FREE to those on income related benefits otherwise it will cost £48.00. Proof that you are in receipt of benefits will be required at the first session.
Creative Wellbeing
This self-led art session, supported by volunteers, allowing members to come along every Monday 10.00am – 12.00pm and be creative using their own materials. New members are welcome. Sessions cost £3.00.
