Acclaimed Japanese pianist, Mami Shikimori, will perform in the Chapel at Auckland Castle on Friday, 2nd September at 7.30pm. Noted for her expressive power and poetic insight, combined with an effortless technical ability, Mami has been exciting audiences since first appearing on stage in 1996. Her playing has been described as ‘electrifying’ and ‘a dazzling revelation’ by critics and she has performed at numerous world-renowned concert venues, including New York’s Carnegie Hall, London’s Wigmore Hall and Tokyo’s Suntory Hall.
