Following Sugar Hill Primary’s News Story about their Pupil Election for Head Boy and Head Girl that featured in last week’s paper, the children have all been casting their votes, the ballot boxes have been counted and the appointments have been made. Since the Year 6 pupils presented their speeches in assembly to staff and pupils the School Leadership Team have met and decided the school should have a Pupil Leadership Team as all seven candidates pledged to make their own special difference to the school with very persuasive writing techniques! With this in mind, the seven candidates have all been successfully appointed as members of the Pupil Leadership Team with the children’s votes deciding on the Head Boy and Head Girl appointments and the Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl positions. This has been a perfect way for pupils to use their vote to influence decisions in school and see democracy in action first hand. If you visit Sugar Hill Primary look out for the Pupil Leadership Team fulfilling their pledges to ensure Sugar Hill remains an outstanding place to learn for all pupils. They are already busy showing new pupils around school that have just joined Sugar Hill this week. With more new starters expected soon the Pupil Leadership Team will be a valuable asset to staff and governors.

Congratulations to you all.
