At 8pm on Wednesday the 11th of March, Durham University’s Gold Award-winning Concert Band will be putting on an exciting evening of music in Durham Castle’s atmospheric Great Hall (University College), with the theme ‘Wonderful World’. The band will be performing a range of music including Vaughan Williams’ Folk Song Suite, Holst’s Mars, music from Jurassic Park, and the Wizard of Oz, Gershwin’s Summertime, and much more, so we guarantee this will be an evening for everyone! Tickets are just £6 for adults, £5 for concessions and under 12s are free! These will be available on the door, or online until 5pm on the day, at www.musicdurham.org/event/concert-band-epiphany-concert.

Durham University Concert Band is a University-wide society, aiming to play a variety of music to a high standard – from original wind band repertoire, to jazz, orchestral arrangements, film music, and more. The band was founded in 1977, and has since gone from strength to strength – recently winning Gold Awards 2 years running at the National Concert Band Festival regionals, as well as at the 2019 Nationals. We are looking forward to our second visit to Nationals, this April, with anticipation! The band has a very friendly atmosphere, and we hope you will feel as welcomed to our concert as players do to the band. We look forward to seeing you there!
