Children have a special postal service in Aycliffe. Children can send their letters directly to Santa and get a reply in time for Christmas.

Santa’s elves have already put Santa’s special post boxes out, but will take them back to Greenland on Monday 17th December.

When everything is quiet, and nobody is looking, the pixies empty the boxes and take the letters to Santa’s palace in Greenland. Santa replies to so many letters each year from the children of Aycliffe, and as he is very busy he has asked that you remember to put your full name and address on your letter.

Parents are asked to make sure that the child’s name and address is clearly marked on the letter as the parents might be able to read their child’s writing but Santa’s eyesight is not so good these days!

We have been told that the post boxes are at the following locations:

  • Post Office/Youngs Newsagents Beveridge Way
  • Johns Your Very Own Mini Market, Neville Parade
  • Horndale Post Office, Silverdale Place
  • Village Store, Woodham
  • McColls at Simpasture
  • Joy Marie Hairdressing at Aycliffe Village

E-mails and forms submitted from the Council’s website http://www.great-aycliffe.gov.uk/events/santa-letters.html will be answered from today, right up to noon on 21st December. Santa has a special e-mail address santa@great-aycliffe.gov.uk and he will reply by e-mail if sent to this address.
