The Options group based at the Pioneering Care Centre recently had a trip to Liverpool, offering them a unique opportunity to explore a new city that many of them hadn’t been to before.
Options members are given the opportunity to go on various excursions throughout the year and this time they voted to go to Liverpool.
The members also chose which activities they wanted to do in the city which included seeing Thriller Live, visiting to the Albert Dock, Liverpool One shopping centre and the Liverpool Wheel. They also stopped off for something to eat at the Pump House.
One of the Options participants said “We had a fab weekend and I can’t wait for our next Options trip away.”
Options is a high quality person-centred service providing a way for disabled people to have more control over their lives and participate more fully in the community in which they live.
Social care workers refer disabled people into the service which offers daily support and opportunities to enable them to achieve their personal goals. Options members develop personal development plans which can include access to education, training, leisure, volunteering and employment.
An Options Social Club which takes place every Thursday from 6pm also within the Pioneering Care Centre is open to all disabled adults and includes hydrotherapy pool sessions, table tennis, bingo and internet access.
