Dear Sir,
Heading towards Alverton Drive from Burn Lane after sunset it is immediately apparent how Durham County Council intends to save  money on street lighting. A whole bank of lights are unlit during the hours of darkness between Temple Way and Alverton Drive, and have been for some time. This results in creating a dangerous area to walk during the hours of darkness.
Imagine my surprise when driving past this morning (after sunrise) to see the lights were illuminated, wasting energy and money during daylight hours, or is this the new money saving ploy, to use solar powered lighting that only works during daylight hours?
Or is it that the sensors are incorrectly set and no one noticed or checks the lighting for defects. Comments please.
