A New market run by volunteers was back last weekend for its second month with an expanded number of stalls. Darlingtons Sunday Peoples Market is held on the first Sunday

of the month, and proved to be a great success when they launched on 5th August with a rise in footfall of 67%.

Word of the market’s success has spread among traders and shoppers throughout the region, with the number of stalls for the second event on Sunday 2nd September increasing from 32 to around 55. Traders from as far afield as Leeds and Dalton-in-Furness have registered and organisers know of one stall travelling from Colne, in Lancashire, staying overnight in a Hotel.

Some of the wares on sale include Darlington’s famous Savoury, jewellery, home made fudge, jams, crafts and much much more.

The Market is held in Blackwellgate from 11am to 3pm. and the organisers invite Newtonians to come have a look at what is on offer.
