Darlington’s Soccer Camp has been very popular this week – and the club is almost certain to organise another event in the Easter Holidays.
The Dolphin Centre has been the base this week for a soccer camp for 5 to 12 year olds with all sorts of football-related activities no matter how good or bad their football skills are.
The feedback has been that the days are great fun, and the youngsters have met one of Darlington’s leading players, Stephen Thompson, and the Darlington manager, Tommy Wright.
Each day has cost £12, which is great value for money, and the course is carried out by suitably-qualified coaches.
Meanwhile, the manager has also been heavily involved in an Academy ID talent day, which attracted over two dozen youngsters, who are thinking about what to do with their careers after their GCSEs in the summer, to Blackwell Meadows on Tuesday.
The club received some bad news earlier this week – left wing back Sam Muggleton, who was making his home debut, suffered badly ruptured ligaments in a challenge on Saturday against Southport, and will miss the rest of the season.
