Every year the CrossFit Games host the “Invitational” during off-season for the top athlete teams to go head to head in a one day competition. This year the competition was between 4 teams of 4 representing USA, Europe, Canada and Pacific held at Caja Majica, home of professional tennis Madrid Open in Spain.
12 ‘CrossFit All Out’ gym members from Newton Aycliffe attended the event with a surprise invite to take part in a friendly competition the day before the big event, alongside 49 other affiliate teams of 1 male 1 female.  Head Coach Terry Anderson and self-proclaimed “recreational CrossFitter” Emma Hackett jumped at the chance and although they didn’t complete the 3rd and final workout due to a medical issue, they were placed 12th overall after the 2nd workout.
Terry said “I was really proud of Emma for giving it a go and we did surprisingly well. It was an amazing experience start to finish and great to see that the supportive community doesn’t end at any level. The fittest guys on earth were just as humble and as friendly as the other affiliate owners. We are proud to be part of it and glad to have shared this weekend with some of our members.
