The Greenfield Arts Men’s Cree group, who are supported by County Durham Public Health, have been participating in a valuable project learning new skills and exploring ways to be positive.

They have recently been making their own journals and memory boxes with guidance from artist Dawn Belshaw. The activity has given a chance to be hands-on, not only creating useful materials and objects, but also creating somewhere to record the positive experiences and creative journeys they have taken whilst meeting together through this process.

This is just one of many opportunities the Cree have enjoyed over the past few months, working alongside artists and practitioners to explore the world around them and what might be possible in the future. Their work will also be part of a new exhibition at Greenfield Arts, Finders, Seekers, which will be shared with our community and the wider public online with new creative activities and opportunities too.

The Greenfield Arts Cree is a wellbeing group that enables members to explore ideas, express themselves and give to the community to support wellbeing and their own positive mental health. The Cree includes men of different ages, skills and experiences and are very welcoming to new men. The group have embarked on many projects that have benefitted the wider public that have been appreciated and benefitted many.
