Lysa Lyth, unexpectedly lost her Nanny, who was the light of my life and a fun woman who used to make things for all the premature babies and grandbabies her friends and family were having.
Lysa was a 27 week gestation preemie herself and received a lot of her yarn when her grandmother died. She didn’t know what to do with it until a year later, when she founded “Crafting for Preemies”. Her aim is to send hand made items to ALL neo natal units in the country, and further if possible.Even though the babies are very small, they deserve help to give them a fighting chance. Lysa wanted to do it on her own, but as time has gone by she realises that accepting other donations means much more can be achieved.
“Our goal is now on a much larger scale, and I am very proud to say it is going well at the moment!” said Lysa. She lives in Darlington and her family who lives in Aycliffe is giving support, but she could really do with more community support,
“There are still hospitals we have not reached, despite donating nearly 1000 items last year!” said Lysa.
