• DCC Environment Scrutiny meeting, Monday 12 November – Single Use Plastics.
• DCC’s response to the Homelessness Reduction Act.
• In this year’s DCC Environment Wards, Newton Press won ‘Greener Business’ of the year, and Horndale Residents Association received Highly Commended in the ‘Community Partnership’ category.
• Volunteer groups working on horticultural projects can still apply for a DCC Civic Pride grant of up to £500.
• Planning your 2019 holidays? School term dates for 2019/20 can be found on the DCC website.
• The Police have mounted ‘Operation Drive Insured’ to catch uninsured drivers.
• 10 November was ‘Equal Pay Day’ – which has fallen on the same day for the past 3 years; from now on, because of the gender pay gap, women are working for free.
• Last week was anti-bullying week.
• Last week was Trans Awareness Week.
• Excellent business results are coming out of last month’s EMCON exhibition.
