Dear Sir,
Please can I respond to the letter from Mrs A Bergg last week which ended with a question to County Councillors asking whether we would be fighting to keep the benefits of this grant within Newton Aycliffe.
I would like to reassure her and others that along with the other County Councillors for the Newton Aycliffe Divisions I have recently met Cabinet representatives to both seek clarity as to precisely where these funds are to be directed and to push for us to ensure we get the maximum benefit from them, and other regeneration plans within County Durham.
We are currently waiting for feedback from these discussions and I can assure you we will robustly pursue the interests of our residents as this develops.
