Dear Sir,

I am just writing to say how proud I am of the adult members of ACORN Residents’ Association, Cliff Wright, Paul Thompson and Ray Gordon approached me with an idea to brighten up our road signs a couple of weeks ago and have come up trumps.

Utilising scrap timber they have constructed boxes and placed them around the base of street furniture with the intention of planting flowers to brighten up our area. As part of the same project these men have liaised with County Councillor Eddy Adams and Durham County Council manager Colin Curry to acquire some soil to place around the base of a local tree.

These projects have now been planted up and are a great benefit to the area.

Thanks guys – everyone in the area gets to appreciate your work

Ken Robson, Chairman
