The Great Aycliffe Community Aid Partnership (GACAP) was offficially launched this week and the first Chairperson is Pauline Chambers Chief Executive of Citizens Advice Bureau. Vice Chairman is Steven Mitton of County Durham Furniture Help Scheme, Secretary Joan Clark from the Youth Centre and the Treasurer is Liane Robinson from Disc where  the Inaugural Meeting was held.
The partners agreed the constitution and will now work together to provide help for people in need in our area in a  cohesive and efficient manner.
Any welfare organisation, statutory or voluntary, in this area may join the partnership and share the benefits of joined up thinking in tackling any problems that affect people’s wellbeing.
The partnership exists to refer people in crisis to a resource which can give immediate assistance.
