St Mary’s Church are hosting a fundraising Coffee Morning next month, with all proceeds donated to Newtonian Paul McGeary’s charity push as he looks to raise £10k for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.
Paul, 33, was diagnosed with Leukaemia in November 2014 and has spearheaded a campaign with almost £6k raised, and other events planned throughout the year to help him achieve his goal.
The Coffee Morning, organised by church volunteers Marie Matthews and Paul’s mother Mary Warke is on Saturday March 21st at 10am. Entry is free and everyone welcome.
The usual teas, coffees, cakes and biscuits will be available throughout the morning at a small charge; there will be a raffle on the day with various prizes on offer.
Mary said, “We have all watched as Paul organised various events to raise money for the charity and we thought we would do our bit by opening our doors to the community at the same time. We thank Father Whelan for allowing us the use of the church for this event and are confident it will be a success. We welcome everyone to support this event, and we’re looking forward to an enjoyable morning.”
Anyone unable to attend the event, who wishes to donate, can do so online via the secure charity page: www.justgiving.com/PaulMcGeary2
