Christmas Countdown Events at Sugar Hill are now well under way much to the excitement of all the children (and staff!)

On Thursday 3rd December children and staff arrived at school in their pyjamas, slippers and dressing gowns to board ‘Sugar Hill’s Polar Express’ armed with hot chocolate, cream, marshmallows and cookies.

Following such a lovely afternoon in school the children all took home their Christmas mug or beaker as a memento of this ‘Sugar Hill first!’

Organising events like these in our very large primary is no mean feat but the challenge was warmly embraced by Mrs Atkinson Jones, our Social Learning Mentor, who shopped for all the cups, mugs and treats – we think she would make a fantastic helper for Santa! Special thanks also to Nicola, Jane and Grace who helped school staff to make this event such a success.

It has been a challenging term in school and the children have had to adjust to new routines to keep everyone as safe as we possibly can throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

This event was a special thank you to all the children from all the staff for the fantastic attitude they have shown since returning to school in September. With more events planned until the end of term there is certainly a buzz in the air at Sugar Hill and in a world of uncertainty all staff at Sugar Hill recognise that it’s so important that for all of our children ‘Christmas is Christmas!’
