A sprinkle of Christmas cheer filled the corridors at HC-One’s Defoe Court Care Home in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, as Residents welcomed in the festive season with a fair.

Defoe Court opened it’s doors to members of the community, selling gifts from Yankee candles to fantastic frames and wooden snowmen, whilst enjoying seasonal hot drinks and nibbles.

The Residents at Defoe Court had a fantastic day and thoroughly enjoyed the sweet and cake stall the most.

Altogether, a fantastic £130 was raised for the Resident’s comfort fund.

Sarah Todd, Home Manager at HC-One’s Defoe Court Care Home commented:

“The Christmas fair is a great way to get the local community involved and to celebrate the festive season. Everyone was in good spirits and enjoying what was on offer and we are delighted at the turnout.

“Thank you to everyone who attended, it really got us counting down the days to Christmas at Defoe Court.”

Christmas Fairs took place in a large number of HC-One homes this year, providing members of the community and Relatives of Residents with the opportunity to get involved in the day-to-day activities of their local care home.

HC-One offers short and long term care to members of the community and is proud to be achieving a 9.5/10 group average rating on the sector’s leading care home comparison website, carehome.co.uk, with Defoe Court scoring 9.8/10.
