For the sixth year running Sonia Scott and her team from MAD Productions are holding their annual charity concert. This year the money raised will go to funding Great Aycliffe Community Action Partnership (GACAP) and Xcel Local.
GACAP are an umbrella organisation which was founded by Syd Howarth in 2013. His vision was for all the charities and  welfare organisation on the town to come together to support one another in helping disadvantaged residents in our area.
Xcel Local is a charity operated by Xcel Church and is also a partner in GACAP. Sonia Scott said “Over the 25 years that MAD Productions has been established we have raised money for many regional and national charities. We chose GACAP because  they help those in our community who are less fortunate. Xcel Local also work with those who struggle to cope. We have for 6 years been lucky to benefit from a free venue thanks to the Xcel Centre. We thought this year’s concert would be an opportunity to thank them for their generosity”.
MAD  Productions com-munity choir is newly formed and is ably run by Evelyn Lodge. The choir have only been together for 4 months and their first production of popular songs from the 50’s and 60’s took place at Bethany Day Care Centre in August.
The concert was a taster for the concert at the Xcel Centre. As with every MAD Production Concert the superb Xcel Singers and Dancers will also be performing.
