Charity Reg 1034862

Rotary Newton Aycliffe have published their final accounts for the year ending 30th June 2019. The club is fully authorised by the Charity Commission, and as such the accounts must be approved by the Trustees. The club’s registration number is 1034862 where details of the charity, and indeed all registered charities, can be found. The club has once again met all its submission deadlines as laid down by the Charity Commission.

The club spent a record total of over £25,000 during the financial year. The major fund-raising efforts were built around the club’s Christmas activities, Model Railway Exhibition and Annual Golf Day, which between them grossed £19,000 out of a total income of £23,000.

The funds were spent on donations to local charities, individuals in need of urgent help, dictionaries for each child in the area in the final year at primary school, helping fund leadership events for young people and funding the cost of the town’s participation in the regional games for the disabled. For obvious reasons of confidentiality, we do not name individuals and organisations who receive funding.

For the past 15 years the annual Santa street collections and Tesco collections have allowed the purchase of many hundreds of Christmas hampers for needy families in Aycliffe.

The club also supports national and regional cancer and children’s charities where we request that the donation is used to fund the charities’ work in the local area.

Members of the club do not take any expenses from the Charity Account.

The club is grateful for the continuous support of the people of Newton Aycliffe, and we ensure that every penny raised is spent on a worthwhile cause, whilst ensuring that the correct administrative and financial procedures are adhered to and meet the strict criteria of the Charity Commission.
