Children had a fantastic time last week, knitting away on Wednesday night with some families to create knitted monsters! Using bright yellow needles, or giant needles, we had a great time learning this fantastic skill. This “learn to knit” session was part of family learning month at Greenfield Community & Arts Centre.

If you missed our session, don’t worry, on Wednesday 24th October from 5pm till 8pm we are having a “Charity Big Knit” night, where we will be knitting squares for charity. If you are a champion knitter, a beginner or someone who wants to learn to knit, join us for tea, biscuits and lots of knitting!

We will be using double knitting yarn and 4mm needles – we will have a few on hand but bring your own if you have them. The squares we will be knitting on the night will be sent to “Knit a Square” a charity supporting AIDS orphans in Africa.

If you would like more information, or to donate some squares, contact us on 01325 379048, or email info@greenfield-arts.co.uk.
