EFL Championship referee, Darren England will be guest speaker at the Bishop Auckland Referees’ Association later this month.

Darren, from Doncaster played and coached within professional academy football before taking up the whistle in 2003 to further his footballing knowledge. He quickly progressed through the promotion system and became a FIFA and Premier League Assistant Referee in 2012. His last game as an Assistant Referee was the 2015 FA Cup Final before he was promoted to the Football League Referees’ List.

Darren refereed the 2017 League Two Play Off Final between Blackpool and Exeter City before being promoted to the Select Group 2 list of match officials who officiate in the EFL Championship.

Darren will visit the Bishop Auckland Referees’ Association meeting on Thursday 21 November 2019 which will take place at Bishop Auckland Football Club’s Heritage Park stadium starting at 7.30pm. All are welcome, and food will be provided.
