The Chairman’s Medal is the highest honour Durham County Council can award, and is given to individuals or groups and for the first time to ‘young people’ who have contributed significantly to communities in County Durham
Working with Great Aycliffe & Middridge Partnership (GAMP) the Chairman is encouraging people to nominate ‘young people’ and ‘individuals for voluntary effort’ or ‘outstanding charitable organisations’ from your local AAP area for the Chairman’s Medal Award.
Cllr Blakey (Chairman), said: “I am certain we will have many outstanding entries to be considered for both categories”.
“We have some wonderful young people throughout the county who richly deserve recognition for the selfless work they do – work that very often goes unnoticed, but is so vital to the individuals or communities it helps”.
The awards will take place in May 2016 and the closing date for nominations is Monday 14 March 2016. You can download nomination forms and guidance through this link:
