Magna Carta Day – Sunday 14th June

Dear Sir,
LiberTeas is a unique opportunity for the nation to celebrate the freedoms we have and actively mark the rights we enjoy as citizens. Is there a liberty, right or representation you are passionate about?
Votes for women, Rights under the law to representation, Equal Rights, Equal opportunities?
To coincide with the 800th anniversary of the sealing of Magna Carta the Houses of Parliament and the National Trust are asking the nation to take a moment to celebrate, debate and reflect on those liberties which we very often take for granted but which people throughout history have campaigned to make happen or fought to preserve.
LiberTeas, is on Sunday 14th June at 3pm and will be the only national commemorative celebration of the sealing of Magna Carta.
ACORN are asking everyone across the town to join us in celebrating our rights, freedom and liberty. They are proud to be associated with this momentous occasion by hosting a marquee tea or picnic in West Park, where we suggest a toast with the rest of the nation at 3pm to mark the moment. Help us spread the word in celebrating liberty!
Churches across the country (and many overseas) are being encouraged to ring their bells at the same time. We hope that you will be able to join us on what promises to be a unique and exciting day.
