Greenfield Community & Arts Centre were asked to develop and manage Newton Aycliffe’s contribution to BRASS: Durham International Festival this year. We have created “Cutting Loose,” a carnival celebration of live music, dance and costume, featuring four different brass ensembles amongst other professional and community performers.
Cutting Loose will take place on Thursday 12th July 2012, 6pm at West Park, Boating Lake, Newton Aycliffe. FREE – Also on the 12th July, BRASS comes to Greenfield Community College and Byerley Park Primary School. La Banda de la Maria, a 13 piece band from Seville, Spain will perform to students at Byerley Park on the Thursday morning, linking to this term’s topic of “Spain”. The band will then perform to Greenfield students during their lunch hour and throughout the afternoon. This is a real treat for the students at Greenfield and Byerley Park to experience BRASS.
If you would like to be a part of this fantastic Brass Spectacular, come and see Banda de la Maria perform as part of “Cutting Loose,” at West Park, Boating Lake from 6pm. For more information, and to enter our contest to win an iPad, visit www.greenfield-arts.co.uk
