Woodham Academy students attended the school’s annual Careers Fair recently. A wide range of local education providers including Bishop Auckland College, Carmel College, Darlington College, Durham Sixth Form Centre, East Durham College, King James I Academy, New College Durham, Northumbria University, Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College and UTC South Durham attended the event. Also present were a number of organisations speaking to the students about apprenticeship opportunities. These were 3M, Carnell, the Fire and Rescue Service, Husqvarna, ITec, Livin, the Royal Air Force, Stiller and SW Durham Training Ltd. The National Apprenticeship Service and The National Citizen Service were also in attendance.

Each participant had a stall and every student from year 8-11 was given the opportunity to speak to them and improve their knowledge and understanding of the variety of different opportunities available to them when they have left school

Careers co-ordinator, Dave Walker, says, “We are extremely grateful to all of the organisations who took part in this year’s Careers Fair. It gave our students a fantastic opportunity to speak to a whole range of different providers so they can make informed decisions about their futures.
