Residents at Rose Lodge Care Home, Cobblers Hall, are very proud to say they have friends in high places.
The ladies and gents were thrilled after receiving a thank you card from Buckingham Palace after sending their best wishes on the birth of HRH Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge on 2nd May 2015.
To honour the birth of the new Princess, residents wrote messages of best wishes and luck to HRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in a card and posted it to the happy couple along with a photo of residents and staff so they could see the faces of their well-wishers.
The card reads: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge thank all the residents at Rose Lodge Care Home for the very kind card sent on the occasion of the birth of their daughter, Princess Charlotte. Their Royal Highnesses have been overwhelmed by all the wonderful messages they have received and send you their warmest thanks and best wishes.
Rose Lodge, owned by care provider Countrywide Care Homes, offers residential and specialist dementia care to the elderly and was named as the 7th highest recommended care homes in the North East in a poll by carehome.co.uk last year.
Care Manager Nicola Wheatley said: “Our residents were absolutely thrilled when we received a reply to our card and it’s been quite the talking point among residents, families and visitors. It’s not every day that you receive a letter from Buckingham Palace!”
