A local care home has launched a new club which aims to get people of all ages sharing, swapping and learning new skills. The new club, dubbed the ‘Share a Skill Club’, will meet monthly at Rose Lodge Cobblers Hall and will offer the chance for attendees to socialise, learn a new skill and share their knowledge with others.
The home is appealing for individuals and community groups to get in touch to register their interest in attending the club, or in offering a skill or talent they can share with the group. From playing an instrument to knitting, the club organisers are interested in hosting a wide variety of activities and creating community links.
As well as inviting people from the local community to attend, the team at Rose Lodge is also extending an invitation to community groups, organisations and charities who would like to get involved with the monthly club.
Socialising and taking part in clubs can not only be a good way of maintaining friendships and hobbies as we get older, but can also beneficial for our health too.
Diane Tweddle, Activities Coordinator at Rose Lodge, Said: “No matter your age it’s always fun to try something new. We thought that launching ‘Share a Skill’ would be an excellent way for our residents and those in the local community to make new friends and socialise while sharing or developing a new hobby or skill.”
For more information or to get involved please contact Activities Coordinator Diane Tweddle on 01325 271301, or call into the home on Carers Way, Cobblers Lane.
