Do you have a bit of spare time and could you use your catering skills to support a local charity? If so, we might have the perfect opportunity!
In 2019 the Pioneering Care Centre in Newton Aycliffe refurbished and rebranded the coffee shop to become the Garden Kitchen.
We want to get the Garden Kitchen back to pre-pandemic popularity, and to do this we need a team of volunteers to offer their support.
Carol Gaskarth, Chief Executive of PCP, said: “The Garden Kitchen is welcoming and busy community café offering a place to unwind and relax for people who use the centre.
“Volunteers are at the heart of PCP’s activities and services, and The Garden Kitchen is often described as the heart of the Pioneering Care Centre.
“We’re looking for people to help us to maintain and develop this service and providing a relaxing and friendly space to connect with each other.”
The Garden Kitchen currently operates on a Monday and Wednesday from 11am until 1pm, and serves up a selection of savoury and sweet treats, hot and cold drinks, and more.
