Dear Sir,
As usual, the residents of Staintondale and surrounding cul-de-sac’s are experiencing congestion during school drop off and collection times, however the issue seems to becoming worse with more vehicles parking up on the pathways, on corners to the entrance of streets and across driveways, it’s becoming more like a main road than a residential area. We struggle to get off our driveways due to the amount of cars being parked up, something needs to be done as it’s only going to be a matter of time before there is a car accident or, worse still, an adult or child being knocked over.
The entrance to the school used to be over the other side near the playing field, however the ‘trade’ entrance seems to be the only means of access now, surely it would be a common sense approach to open both entrances and ease the congestion. We appreciate people need to get their children to school, however there seems to be very little thought for the people living in this area.
I would urge the local police to attend a typical morning/afternoon drop off and assess the situation as I don’t believe for one minute that what we witness on a daily basis would be acceptable in any other environment, an emergency vehicle would struggle to get through Staintondale with the constant gridlock caused by the excessive amount of traffic at these times.
