24 enthusiastic partners attended to second AGM of GACAP (Great Aycliffe Community Aid Partnership). The previous year saw 16 partners in attendance. Business was over quickly the Retiring chairman welcomed all present and introduced Syd Howarth MBE founder of the partnership.
Syd said a busy year was ahead with the hoped acquisition of the Library building to create a welfare community hub and a community centre at Elmfield.
All officers stood down but as there were not more than one nomination for each post all nominee’s were elected. Steven Mitton was elected Chairman with Susan Sadler to assist him as Co-Chairman. Liane Taylor was re-elected as Treasurer. Ron Mitchie was elected as Secretary as Joan Clark had stood down, but she was happy to except the post of Assistant Secretary.
All partners present were given the opportunity to introduce themselves to partners and a healthy period of networking took place.
If you would like any further information about becoming a partner please contact Ron by e-mail: secretary.gacap@gmail.com or come along to our next meeting at 4pm at DISC offices by the Blue Bridge on Monday 6th June.
