Cadets and staff at 1407 (Newton Aycliffe) Squadron Air Cadets have had a busy month. We’d like to thank all the shoppers at Tesco, Newton Aycliffe for helping us raise over £400 at our recent collection.
Congratulations to Cadet Warrant Officers Tom Lowe and Karl McCormack who have been promoted to the highest possible cadet rank after a successful interview with the Wing Commander. The promotions are the result of years of hard work and dedication. Well done also to Corporal Peter Hastie on his promotion. He’s making a promising start to his cadet career.
Cadets had the fantastic opportunity to visit the National Police Air Service helicopter at Newcastle Airport. After a presentation on what the NPAS does we had a guided tour of the aircraft and got to see lots of crime stopping equipment.
With rock climbing, kayaking, flying, X-country, shotgun shooting and first aid qualifications coming up, the next few months look to be action packed too! If you’re in Year 8 or above and under 17 and are interested in fun and adventure then come and see what the Air Cadets have to offer. See our website www.1407aircadets.org or find us on Facebook.
